#Why no sling tv on apple tv how to
It will remain the dominant software until I can cheese the launcher again.Īnyone else seeing this? Anyone got any ideas on how to fix this? I can't even find where to report a technical issue on the SlingTV web page. Also, if I start SlingTV again in an effort to use the app for which I'm actually paying, it will resume being in control. This will remain true until the TV is put through a power-off/power-on cycle using the remote, or by pulling the power plug, after which time the SlingTV will resume being in control. If done quickly enough, it will fire up the other app and Sling will no longer have control. If I had to guess, I would say they have no plans to bring it to Apple TV (which is extremely frustrating), and that its all been political. I have to hit the HOME key and, within about a one second window, highlight an app like YouTube and click on it to get it to start. Their official stance since launch has always been that AirTV integration is in the pipeline to come to the Sling app for Apple TV, but evidence for them following through has been zero. The one technique I've found to get around this problem is to cheese the launcher, but it's tough to do. Any effort to navigate away from SlingTV results in SlingTV restarting itself and refusing to yield control.Any attempt to go into the settings is defeated by SlingTV, which instantly cancels any other action I am trying to take and restarts itself. No matter how many times I try to return to the launcher, SlingTV starts itself. After pressing the HOME key on the remote, to return to the launcher, in less than one second, SlingTV starts itself again. When the TV powers on, the screen flashes as WebOS comes up, and SlingTV instantly starts.

Until the update on the 21st, the app worked fine. I am running the SlingTV app version 4.28.0, updated on, on a brand new LG C1 TV with WebOS.
